Biography
Dr. David L. Stowe is an Associate Professor of Finance at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s College of Business, where his research focuses on quantitative asset management, delegated portfolio management, and financial analytics. A dedicated scholar, his theoretical and empirical work has been published in premier peer-reviewed academic journals, including the Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, the Financial Analysts Journal, and Financial Markets, Institutions & Instruments.
Beyond his academic research and classroom teaching, Dr. Stowe bridges advanced financial theory with institutional practice through a robust portfolio of external consulting and advisory work. He collaborates extensively with the CFA Institute, contributing specialized expertise to global professional investment standards and educational initiatives, and frequently advises organizations on nonprofit governance and finance, strategic capital allocation, and fiduciary responsibility.
In addition to his foundational research and consulting, Dr. Stowe plays an integral role in shaping the college's experiential learning ecosystem through his leadership and mentorship within the Applied Investment Programs. He works closely with student leaders in managing the Student Equity Management Group (SEMG) and the Fixed Income Management Group (FIMG), guiding them in institutional portfolio management, rigorous security analysis, and the real-world application of asset allocation strategies. Through this hand-on mentorship, he helps bridge rigorous academic theory with live market execution, preparing students for elite careers in investment banking, research, and asset management.
