Student Organizations Athens

Our Mission

The OUHCOM Pediatrics Club provides additional education in Pediatrics to medical students and promotes pediatric health in the community. We encourage our members to be actively involved in the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP), our national organization. The ACOP provides numerous resources including annual educational conferences, publications, and residency information. As a club, we are proud to provide diverse opportunities to our members across all three OUHCOM campuses, and make a difference in the communities of Athens, Dublin and Cleveland. As an organization, we are very proud of our accomplishments this year and look forward to where next year will take us.

Dues: $30 Annually

Services Provided 

On each campus, members participate in lunch lectures presented by residency directors and pediatricians in various subspecialties. At a local level, we provide our members with opportunities to interact with and serve families in our community through programs such as Athens Schools School Nurse Project, Trunk-or-Treat, and Project Linus Additionally, we fundraise to support research and national philanthropic organizations such as: PJammin’ for Kids with Cancer and Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Tentative Schedule for 2026-2027

Fall: 

• Badge Reel Sale: fundraiser event 
• Project Linus - Blanket Making for Children in Need: this is a collaborative event with SSP who is in charge of purchasing the supplies. 
• Athens Schools - School Nurse Project: No funding needed 
• Athens Trunk or Treat: We will announce that students can donate bags of candy for TOUCH hours and this donated candy will be what we hand out at the event. 

Spring: 

• Candygram Fundraiser 
• Athens Schools - School Nurse Project: No funding needed
