ºìÐÓÊÓƵ

The Building Bobcats: New-to-OU Community Learning Program is a cohort-based, faculty-led program to help faculty newer to OHIO build relationships across the university and throughout the community.

The program is designed to provide participants with community-focused networking and learning opportunities. Specifically, program participants will be introduced to unique aspects of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ, the Athens community, and Appalachian ºìÐÓÊÓƵ by actively exploring the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ campus and surrounding community. At the same time, they will expand and strengthen their network across campus.

Structure

The program will be hosted in person on the Athens campus of ºìÐÓÊÓƵ. Participants will gather in-person in Alden Library, Room 319 on select Tuesdays from 1:00-2:20 PM during the fall semester for experiences and discussions. Program dates are Sept. 8 & 22, Oct. 6, 20, & 27, Nov. 3, 10 & 17, and Dec. 1. 

Meeting topics include ºìÐÓÊÓƵ, the Athens campus, the Athens community, and Appalachian ºìÐÓÊÓƵ. Meetings will include guest speakers who share their stories and experiences, along with meaningful discussion and engagement.

This year’s program is organized and facilitated by OHIO faculty members Rebecca Dingus and Kristin Hepworth. 

Eligibility

Any full-time ºìÐÓÊÓƵ faculty who have been employed by ºìÐÓÊÓƵ for five years or less are specifically encouraged to sign up for the program. 

Please register for the Building Bobcats: New-to-OU Community Learning Program before the first meeting on Tuesday, September 8 and then attend the first meeting on Tuesday, September 8 at 1:00 PM in Alden 319.
