The Marching 110 has a storied history at OHIO, but its origins go back further than most realize. This year marks the 100th birthday of the University’s marching band.
OHIO alumni once again showed their unwavering commitment to student success and collective action at the College of Business Society of Alumni and Friends Second Annual Bobcat Networking Event.
The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ’s College of Business – Society of Alumni and Friends (SAF) will host its second Annual Bobcat Networking Celebration on April 20, at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati from 5-8 p.m.
When Evan Schalon arrived in Athens, he was a long way from his hometown in Maryland. But when it was time to graduate, he jumped at the opportunity for one more year at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ.
In 2017, Gene Thrailkill, MED ’62, took what would be his last bow at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ, returning to campus to conduct the Marching 110 and its alumni during a Homecoming performance commemorating the 50th anniversary of the band he built.
The Marching 110 will perform on the College Green on Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. as part of the new Concerts on the Green series.Â
On March 31, Bobcats across the state watched with pride as Governor Mike DeWine highlighted the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Marching 110 at the end of his daily COVID-19 press conference.
The college experience is transformational. For Sophia Medvid, the contrasts between her first day on campus and the start of senior year are especially significant.
At the heart of the Marching 110 is its drumline, led by section leader Joe Huster, BBA ’19. Members commit 12 hours weekly during the regular football season, balancing their dedication to excellence with the challenges of being college students.
